Some of the homemade hair growth remedies are as follows,

1. Egg Mask

It’s one of the most effective remedies for hair growth for dull hair. The egg white is useful in replenishing and restoring the softness of the hair. It contains a lot of minerals like zinc, potassium, sulfur, iron, and phosphorous that helps in thick hair growth.

 All you have to do is to apply the mask on the head and leave it as it is for around fifteen minutes. If this is done regularly, then the hair gets shinier and healthier.

2. Curry Leaves and Coconut Oil

Our mothers usually keep on telling us to not avoid curry leaves while eating as it is very good for hair growth, curry leaves are not only by just consuming it but also by applying it as a paste.

We already know the amazing properties of coconut oil, as it is used in southern parts of India extensively. Coconut oil is the best remedy for treating hair loss and improving thick hair growth. The fatty acids present in the coconut oil binds with the proteins in the hair and protect the hair strands from root to tip thereby preventing breakage.

It seals the moisture present in the shaft of the hair and protects from pollution and excess heat.

Now, add 7 to 8 curry leaves to half a cup of coconut oil and boil it well. Add the black residue you attain twice a week and emphasize the change.

3. Indian Gooseberry or Amla

It’s a very popular remedy used up in Ayurveda. The regular usage of Amla directly on the hair aids in strengthening of hair follicles, hair growth stimulation and prevents hair breakage and split ends. Amla is rich in vitamin C and various antioxidants.

Make a fine mixture of two spoons of Amla and lime juice together. Apply the mixture to the hair and leave it dry for two hours.

4. Fenugreek

It is a rich source of proteins and lecithin that aids in strengthening and moisturizing the hair follicle.

To make the paste, soak a small cup of fenugreek in water for an entire night. Apply a little bit of coconut oil to your scalp and then apply the paste. Rinse the hair after an hour of paste application and repeat this 3 to 4 times a week.

5. Beetroot Juice

Beetroot is a rich source of manganese, vitamin B6, vitamin C, betaine, and folates. Beet is also well known for the presence of Betalains which are a special type of Phytonutrients. They have powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and detoxification properties.

The procedure is very simple, apply beetroot juice with ginger and massage the scalp. Or you can even drink beetroot juice often for better and healthy hair growth.

6. Fish Oil

The polyunsaturated fatty acids present in fish oil can greatly enhance the density and health of the hair. The presence of Omega 3 fatty acids can make the hair shinier, stronger and can reduce hair loss and dandruff-related issues.

The fishes with higher omega 3 nutrient content are salmo0n, herring, mackerel, sardines, etc.

Apart from directly consuming these fishes, supplements are also available in the market.

7. Castor Oil

Castor oil contains Vitamin C and essential amino acids, especially omega 9 amino acids that are very essential for the healthy growth of hair follicles and the scalp. This oil can even be taken as a remedy for scalp psoriasis.

Dilute the castor oil with coconut or olive or almond oil and apply it to the scalp for about an hour and gently massage it. Then, wash it with a shampoo and repeat this 2 to 3 times a week to yield better results.

8. Lemon Juice

Lemon is an easily available and effective solution to hair problems. Lemon is a rich source of Vitamins like Vitamin, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, and also antioxidants, and folic acid. It not only treats Oily hair but also aids to fight dandruff and gives rise to smooth and shiny hair.

Make a mixture of one spoon lemon extract with 2 spoons of coconut oil or olive oil, apply this mixture on hair for an hour and then wash it. People with Chronic headache issues and allergic to lemon must think twice before using this mask, as it might give you side effects.

9. Potatoes

Sounds weird, isn’t it? Potatoes are one of the best natural ways to enhance hair growth. Being a rich source of vitamin A, C, D, calcium, potassium, iron, and phosphorous, they can prevent dryness of hair and premature silver hairs too.

Take a half cup of potato juice, a teaspoon of honey, little water, and egg yolk and mix it. Apply it on the scalp ad wash it after half an hour with a mild shampoo. Repeat this once a week for better results. 

10. Aloe Vera

Last but not the least; Aloe Vera is the best home remedy to fight any kinds of hair related issues. It cleanses the pores, replenishes the body, and adjusts the pH level. It contains 75 nutrients and proteolytic enzymes that demolish the dead cells on the scalp. It is also used as a moisturizing and nourishing conditioner that further gives a soft and smooth texture to the hair.

Take a bowl and add two tablespoons of your shampoo, one tablespoon of Aloe Vera gel, coconut milk, and half a teaspoon of wheat germ to it. Mix it well and wash it off.
